The Mascot Hall of Fame is a growing brand full of opportunity to showcase your product or service. If you are interested in geting involved with the Mascot Hall of Fame contact us toll free at 866-925-6500. Don't take our word for it...read below! To Whom It May Concern, My name is Robert Boudwin and I have been a mascot for the past 17 years, the last 13 of which have been spent portraying Houston's Own CLUTCH "The Rockets Bear" for the NBA's Houston Rockets. I write to you on behalf and in support of the Mascot Hall of Fame operated by Raymond Entertainment Group headed by David Raymond, who is probably most recognized for his innovative and ground breaking work as the original Philly Phanatic from 1978 to 1993. There is no better person or group than David and his staff to steward this institution. They possess the broadest, most balanced, and most experienced perspective on mascots in sports entertainment. Through David's passion for performance, his desire to give back and help develop younger performers, and his staff's dedication and commitment to his vision, they have managed to create and legitimize an institution that pays tribute to sports', anonymous celebrity performers, silent comedians, and well, goofy fur balls. With over 12 million media impressions world wide at the first ever inductions in 2005 covered by media outlets such as ESPN, Fox Sports, Philadelphia Inquire, and USA Today, and coupled by 6 million hits to mascothalloffame.com in one month alone during the 2006 on-line voting, and plenty of national sponsor support, the Mascot Hall of Fame has made a huge and lasting impact on Sports and those who are fans. Clutch was fortunate enough to be inducted into the Mascot Hall of Fame in 2006, which was the 2nd annual induction and his first year of eligibility. The induction campaign and ceremony as well as the induction status all proved to be a great promotion for our team, unique brand of Rockets entertainment, and our mascot character himself, and most importantly our dedicated fans. In July of 2006 over 3.5 million on-line votes were garnered for Clutch by Houstonians and Rockets/Clutch fans world wide. One Rockets sponsor even produced a commercial urging Houstonians to go on-line to mascothalloffame.com and vote Clutch into the Hall of Fame which aired 14 times in one week during Connan O’Brien’s Late Night show and various ESPN coverage. During the campaign to get Clutch inducted we also solicited testimonial letters from prominent Houstonians like the Mayor, heads of large companies, and established journalist and sportscaster. As of October 2007 these letters are still on display as part of Clutch's web page at rockets.com. The induction and its campaign were the top story on our home page at rockets.com on 3 separate occasions, a site with average daily hits of over 100,000. It was also covered by many major local media outlets including the Houston Chronicle and local affiliate news programs. Once we at the Rockets were notified of the impending induction, we produced a congratulations video with well wishes from a collection of famous Houstonians including, Mayor Bill White, Rockets superstar Tracy McGrady, and Rockets star and international philanthropist Dikembe Mutombo which aired at the induction ceremony in Philadelphia. The montage was also re-aired as part of a ceremony during a Rockets home game where we also presented Clutch and our fans with the Golden Silly String trophy. That trophy is on permanent display in the Memorial Hermann Sky Court which is our children's interactive area in the Toyota Center concourse. The news of Clutch's induction also made an impression on some of our state's legislators. After induction we received a proclamation from Texas Congressman Rodney Ellis. Lastly and most importantly, the positive feedback we received and continue to receive from our fans has been over- whelming. Frequently at games and appearances our fans will congratulate the character and make comments about his Hall of Fame status. I would highly recommend any eligible mascot and the team which they represent actively pursue induction into the Mascot Hall of Fame if they feel they are deserving and have earned the distinction. I am happy to elaborate further and answer any other questions on-line at clutch@rocketball.com or via phone at 713-758-7279. Whether you are a fan, a prospective inductee, or prospective sponsor, I hope to see you as part of the Mascot Hall of Fame soon. Robert Boudwin
